How to Use This System

Registration

1. How do I register as a volunteer?

Volunteers with the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation must be over the age of 18, complete a Police Information Check without vulnerable sector, and have an interest in supporting fundraising initiatives in our community! 

Step 1. You can register by navigating back to the main volunteer page and select the "Volunteer Now" button.

**Please note, a valid email address not previously used to register for volunteering opportunities that utilize the Galaxy Digital system will be required. Any email address previously used will return an error indicating the email has been used before. The email you use to register cannot be shared by others and must be unique. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the "Forgotten Password" link to reset your credentials.

Alternately, you can use Facebook to register! It's super simple and will also import some of the registration info for you.

Step 2. Complete the Track "ACHF Volunteers" to answer onboarding questions and sign your Volunteer Forms 

Step 3. Wait for Reference Letter to be added to your account before completing your Police Information Check without vulnerable sector ($25)

Step 4. Set up a meeting with the Volunteer Coordinator

Step 5. Upload your completed Police Information Check to your Qualifications

Step 6. Sign up for your first event! 

Logging In

1. How do I log in?

You can log in by visiting the homepage at https://volunteer.childrenshospital.ab.ca/. Click the Login button (top right-hand corner). You can also register from this page as well.

2. How do I reset my password?

On the Login page, at the bottom there's link to reset your password.

3. How should I set up my account?

  1. Add a Profile Photo to your account by going to your Profile > Edit Profile > Update My Account. 
  2. Ensure your communication preferences are on so you receive all updates for upcoming events. Find this in your Profile > Edit Profile > Data and Communication Settings
  3. Keep your Basic Information up to date by editing on your profile. 
  4. If you would like to receive Text Messages please opt in by navigating to your profile >Edit Profile> Underneath your Phone Number > Check the box "Send me texts from this site"

4. Download the App!

Download the Causer App to have all volunteer opportunities at your fingertips. Sign up for events on your phone and opt in to receive push notifications. Download the app by clicking the link here .


Volunteer Opportunities

1. How do I find one that's right for me?

There are many opportunities to put your skills and compassion to use. Browse through the Opportunities link on the left-hand navigation bar. There are many filter types available when searching for events. We suggest filtering by Distance to find opportunities nearby. You can add additional filters like, Family Friendly, Outdoors, Skill, etc. You can also filter by Event to find opportunities to get involved at events like RBC Race for the Kids, the Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon, Candy Cane Gala, and more.

2. How do I access opportunities I've already signed up for?

Check your Volunteer Dashboard! From here you can click on your Opportunity Responses to view your upcoming volunteer shifts. Click on the Opportunity Name to view full details. You can also edit your response, add/submit volunteer hours, Check In/Out of the shift, or unregister from the Options column.
